To stay at 6 , and my tap water is at 6.8 , what is the best product , I know ph down etc works , but that's a lot of test then add them test and add etc , does discus buffer etc just keep the ph at 6 no matter how much u add ? Discus as far as soft water fish are concerted are actually pretty tough. I would concentrate on stability, and if you can have a stable H of 6.8, do that When talking soft water pH is not the primary thing to look at. Look into gH and kH and then quickly move on to TDS. ^^^^^^ see above. I remember going to a meeting in Sydney of the discus society to learn about discus and could not understand why everyone was buying from the store hydrochloric acid.
