pony-tail
I keep seeing Flowerhorns for sale everywhere but in recent times , I have not seen a single pure Trimac for sale . Used to be called Cichlasoma Trimaculatum - probably called something similar now ( all the Genera have been changed around ) Although I I like them I can't keep them as my tanks are too small but I would still not like to see them vanish . It looks like the Flowerhorn hybrid has completely displaced them and that would be both unfortunate and a little bit sad !
Lictoga
Gone from Aus, none left. All bread into mongrels
pony-tail
So it would appear . What makes it worse is that there is no way of reversing it as AQUIS is never going to allow them in again !
Lictoga
Just wait for the demand for pure Americans to increase, they will appear again. Could make a tidy profit of of a single pair of Americans not common in Aus, motas, trimac, Midas, ect. And a lot easer to breed than the exotics that get smuggled in. Wink wink nudge nudge.
