Also you could try upping the temp over a couple of days to [say30 degrees] then a largish water change or two then let the temp back down to 26/7 degrees. This worked for me with hard to breed Msobos.

My ph generally sits about 8. There on a big sumped system so the extra heat isn't an option so will have to wait until summer for that haha. I run my tanks at 24 through winter. I'll giving them a bit more time yet to see how it pans out thanks for the ideas in case I can't still get him spawning more regularly
