LFS 2 - seemed very switched on and had quite a few different Rams "Blue Rams" Looking Forward to your thoughts Cheers Edited October 5, 2015 by Slipshodman
pk333
First photo is a male long fin blue ram. Second photo could be a wild type blue ram or a young, yet to colour up ram. I have the feeling that the second photo is a juvenile male. Here's a good video.
Slipshodman
Thanks pk333 The second one is incredibly aggressive, i didn't think Rams were aggressive unless breeding, he has claimed half the 4ft tank and ever other fish is at the other end as he chases them over there, even on occasion he swims over the other side and just starts pushing around any other fish. Not sure what to do with him as i only got him on the weekend, i don't know how (or if i can) get him to settle down Cheers
Sephiroth
How big is the tank? Is he the biggest fish in the tank? A male Ram will set up boundaries in the aquarium whether he's breeding or not, it's a dominance thing, specially if he is or is close to the biggest fish, most aquariums have a heirachi. Slipshodman
thanks Sephiroth the tank is 4ft 200 ltr the rams are the biggest fish (not including Bristle nose and a Pleco) he is no bigger than the others and if he is a juvi as suggested the others he are bullying are older than him. i know what you mean about the heirachi so probably all it is , over the last two days the others seem to be venturing to the side of the tank he has decided is his, so maybe its just a matter of time for them to sort them selves out cheers
Shankara
Your top picture is a male Long Finned German Blue Ram. The other looks like a female, normal GB Ram as well. As the second one grows, you will know more. How to Sex Rams | Aquarist Magazine
