smicko Posted October 11, 2015 Report Share Posted October 11, 2015 Hi all, i put some chemiclean into my reef tank today and added an air stone as per the instructions. Now my wife has decided she likes the look of the bubbles under the moon light so, could I keep it in there permanently? I've done a bit of research and everything I read that are potential issues is disproved with a counter argument, the same as most things in reef keeping lol. The only thing that I can see happening is salt creep which shouldn't affect me as the water level is over 10cm lower than the tank. Does anyone have any first hand experience? Thanks in advance. From memory, I used to get gradual salt build up along the air line and a bit of crusting around the lids of the tank. My tank was pretty full tho. rainbowrunner Posted October 11, 2015 Report Share Posted October 11, 2015 salt build up is the biggest issue, when bubbles pop droplets go further than 10cm, if this isnt a problem for you with regular maintenance I dont see any other reason not to I ran bubbles in all my marine tanks that werent sumped.
