GotCrabs
Hi, just wondering if anyone on here has had any experiences with the BioPro External Canister Filter 800l, are they any good? Would they be fine in a 4ft? Thanks.
Heintz.G
Never had a BioPro can't help with that. I assume your tank is 4x1.5x1.5 250lt? an 800lt filter will not quite do the job IMO, I'd be more inclined to look at something around the 1200lt to 1400lt mark depending on what you're keeping in the tank. Just remember as soon as you add all of your media you automaticaly loose water flow in the filter and the dirtier the filter gets the more water flow you loose. Yeah that's true, didn't even think of that, will be keeping small native fish in there, still in the planning stages at the moment, will look into 1200/1400lt filters then, was a little worried it might be too strong something over 800lt. Heintz.G
Lots of plants, wood and some stone and they'll love it, if you're keeping the spray bar on just point it up to the surface and all will be good.

aquatic7
Hey Crabs, i run a couple of 2200l BioPros' on my 5x2x2 and use sponges on the intake tubes, this removes most of the suspended matter before entering the filter chambers. I then only have to clean the filters every 6months, they keep the tank crystal clear this way. I would suggest getting the 2200l for your tank as they do not turn over the volume once filled with media, load it with sponges and Marine pure and some noodles on the very bottom. I have had to replace the impeller after 18mths only because it became noisy, they are only $16 something otherwise i am pretty happy with them. Check out their add on Ebay some really good prices sometime and they have best offer on certain adds, good luck.
