buck
I flooded it after a week and added some hygrophila pinnatifidaon and a mini native fern, the fern didn’t suit
buck
I added a crypt to the corner that the mini fern was in and started to get some epic algae/diatom issues. I put a few yellow cherries in to start the clean up
col
i think your algae is a lack of co2 problem,As you have a hob filter the surface is creating good oxygen exchange but at the same time the co2 would not be staying in the water column long at all, rather escaping out quickly so basically your wasting your co2.For that kind of set up liquid co2 would be better, imo

The co2 bell diffuser isn’t the most effective way to administer co2 I know but I had it sitting there not doing anything and thought and thought it would be better than nothing. buck
The hyro looked ok but I wanted a smaller bushier stem there so I asked around and ended up getting what I’ve been told is rotala roundifolia and he chucked in some others ( big thanks to inverted if you here
buck
I started dosing dino spit and pee to combat the algae and diatoms. I did a big spot dose of spit on all of the algae and diatoms and it cleared up very quickly. I also added some Darwin algae and red nose shrimp that I got at the same time as the spit and pee. It really is a great combo to battle algae
