GotCrabs
Just after a rough idea of how many fish to stock in a 45l tank, it's an Mr Aqua 12g 45l tank, 90cm x 21cm x 24cm. I'm wanting to keep a group of Spotted Blue Eyes, some Rhads and perhaps something else, just not sure on numbers of each though. Any ideas? Thanks. pk333
Lots of variables in play. First would be what is the filter? You can really only stock the number of fish your filter can handle. Next, it really is a small tank. 90cm but only 45 litres. My 90cm tanks are 180 litres. I can't emphasise enough how little that amount of water is compared to the length of the tank. To me that has a significant impact on the size and number of fish I would stock. Also the diet and amount of waste produced by fish. You don't want to be stocking fish that produce a lot of waste. What type of fish were thinking about? and what type of aquascape do you have in mind.
grubby
Also extra to my PM, rhads need a lot more space than a 45 litre tank.
GotCrabs
Probably looking at Spotted Blue Eyes and or another small size native in with a group of Glass Shrimp. Filter, I'm looking at an Eheim 2213 canister. Layout with be just some aquarium gravel, planted with Vallisneria nana and Lilaeopsis brisbanica, nothing over planted, wanting plenty of room to roam. Food will be crushed flake food and mozzie larvae as well. Edited November 11, 2015 by GotCrabs

It's probably best I don't do the tank isn't it, when I really think about it this tank isn't really suitable for a group of natives to school in, I just don't have the room for a larger tank that's all, love fish, especially natives, guess I'll just do the right thing and not do the tank. grubby
So what are the dimensions ??? You really don't need much space for SBE's.

GotCrabs
OK, I've bitten the bullet and have ordered an Eheim 2213 canister for the tank as well as some plants from Dave and Robyn at AquaGreen, Vallisneria nana, Lilaeopsis Brisbanica and Native Penny Wort, once the tank is established I'll order say 10 SBE.
