hi i am looking for some advice for some substrate for my cichlid tank. current tank inhabitants include elec yellows and cobues at the moment and i am wanting to choose the right substrate.

should i get something that raises the ph or just go with anything. not too concerned with looks as long as the fish like it.

any help would be great thanks.

exactly, its only like $12 for a 20kg bag and usually pretty clean too most of the time it only needs a quick rinse.. then go to an aquarium and get a scoop or 2 of coral sand which blends in nicely and that will keep the ph up for you.

but personally i think the 2mm calcium carb is a nicer look
