DeBree420
think i will get this cos they can cut to the 80cm wide i need and it will be one piece. http://www.beansgalore.com.au/27/online-store/54-Polystyrene-Sheet-M-hd-Grade-2400x1200x25mm bit thicker than i was intending but it's the least thick you can get in that grade
litigator666
if you're in the logan area, go to koolfoam slacks creek. get some offcuts for $2-4 a sheet (roughly 4x2 @25mm). you can just cut it to size and fit them together rather than buying a whole piece. They have it in graphite colour which look much better than the white one. They even have VERRRRRY THICK ones if you want to get those for your base. mbunamad
debreedonnylover Litigator is spot on. Make the trip to Koolfoam. They have various sizes of offcuts and thicknesses. It will save you a heap of moolah. I'm sure you will get what you need.

none
im getting new styro for my 8foot, im not sure if i should go 10 or 20 mm thick... any opinions ? As @yellows advised 20mm+ without doubt. I would not use 10mm on anything over a 48"x15" although even then I prefer 12mm on that size. I've got one 48" x 15" tank here (brand new a couple of weeks old) that like so many was not made properly (base not level) and as such I have two sheets of 10mm underneath just to be on the safe side. Always go oversize rather than under. At least one tank maker will not warrant an 8 foot tank unless 25mm polystyrene is used...
