Well done Aust. Post

Recommended Posts

Purchased some items from the Tech Den in CABOOLTURE who shipped the parcel on Mon.14th it then went to BRENDALE QLD on the same day. Now the items are in, wait for it SUNSHINE WEST VIC with an expected delivery on the 23-12th. Know wonder they are losing money.

In no way am I blaming the Tech Den for this problem

Generally they are pretty good but then there is the odd one where I tear my hair out. We have tried a couple of other couriers and have had a worse result which was why we had to drop the same day delivery with Fastways - we tried it and the last straw was a customer that lived 10k from Yatala and although it was in their same day zone it had to be handed off to another courier and the same day zone ended up 3 days - they advised that some areas in the same day zone were not same day. I would like to find a good competitive nationwide courier but there always seems to be something that lets it down.

But this is not getting your order to you any quicker - if you can shoot me through your order number and email it to me at sales@thetechden.com.au I will chase it up and try and get it sorted out quicker with our account manager for Australia Post.

I would look it up myself but all I have is verfnew.

Always the way.

Ordered something from Ireland a few years ago - made it to Sydney fast enough...until tracking showed Aus Post had redirected it, & it finally tracked as having safely arrived in Austria! Logistical nightmare trying to get it returned back to Australia, weeks later.

I feel your pain, verfnew

No matter which courier is used there will always be stuff ups.

Human error plays a part with goods going on the wrong truck/van/flight because the human puts the item in the wrong area/pallet/cage.

Some couriers are more competent than others. Generally speaking the bigger they are the more stuff ups because they handle more freight.

Would Techy consider supplying the order again and trusting verfnew to return the original package?

Could verfnew reject the original package when Aust. Post finally deliver it?

Found you...our Account Manager has an email waiting for her when she arrives to work tomorrow. Australia Post do advise to allow 4 working days to your location so times a ticken - should not take 4 days but they do say to allow. Day 5 we instruct Australia Post to launch an investigation but hope to have it resolved before then.

I will receive updates on the tracking as will our customer support to keep an eye on it.

@mubunamad - although we only charge $7.50 it would cost $11.10 in postage plus packaging plus time and waiting in line at Australia Post to send a parcel back and hopefully verfnew will have his order in a couple of days.

This is what customer service is all about.

I spend my fish/dry goods dollars at 6 different shops who all give great customer service.

They answer my questions I spend my dollars there. Its great to build up a relationship with lfs and online shops. We both get the benefits.

Fingers crossed, I've ordered heaps from The Tech Den over the last year and it has always arrived extremely quick

But I've had issues in the past with Australia post and other companies - I guess that's just the way it is until they all pick up their game and realise everyone loves buying online more and more

I just waited 20 days for a phone case from China via DHL, so that makes 1-2 days through Australia post seem very quick

Never had a problem with Australia post until recently. Then it all went to hell in a bucket. Had something sent from Melbourne, which is meant to be 1-2 business days if i remember correctly, take just under 3 weeks. Where as a few months before hand I ordered a torch from China which came in well under 3 weeks.

Might pay to pop into an online review page and say what's going on there. Often they reply faster on that then their actual helpline it seems.

There is nothing that I require urgently in the package though I could have done with the air valves as I have shifted some tanks to a different site in my air line and I would like to get the filters working there. If I knew how to plug the old holes I would have just shifted the air valves with the tanks.

Although I have not seen an update on the Australia Post tracking today which is not unusual as the update usually comes with being scanned in at the next location, I did receive a reply from our account manager saying "looks like it was a miss sort at the hub. I have let the hub managers know and the operations manager." Unfortunately we are limited in what we can do as we are not in control of the package (your order) but we are still doing what we can where we can for you and hope to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Australia Post are terrible.. I recently ordered a pair of tyres from tyretrader.com.au... one made it to the pickup point in Maleny with "2 OF 2" on it, they lost the other 20" tyre for a week and refused to launch an investigation even though 1/2 the consignment had made it, as it hadn't been "lost for 4 days". Absolute crap service from Australia Post.

I can't say I have ever had a problem with Aus post, they have never let me down, the guys at my local are nice and friendly too. Mistakes get made, it's only materialistic things, meditate over it, positive zen will help your package find you.

Generally Australia post is EXCELLENT compared to the others... Just this last few weeks its been crazy.. orders go off radar for a week then bam back on again, stuff being signed for but then receiver says they never got it.. orders going south then redirected up north where they should be going.. every other year has been flawless but this year its gone all crazy. I understand everyone is posting Christmas pressies atm but you gotta ask "how hard is it" all i can say is im glad we insure all our orders for our customers..
