Toga
I have these small creatures on the bottom of my CRS shrimp tank. They are about half the size of a sesame seed. Any ideas what these are?
tuffy_rana
They appear to be daphnia
smicko
Seed shrimp, they are a normal part of a healthy shrimp tank. Cheers mick
TED
I also have these but they only survive in my canister filter. They dont seem to be doing any harm so I have never worried about them and just pour them out off the filter when it gets cleaned. So they are harmless? TED
Sweet. I probably do over feed the fish in this particular tank as I have close to 200 adult peps and getting the right amount of food to them can sometimes be a guessing game. 2 handfuls of waffers down that end, 3 handfuls of waffers down the other end, 2 handfuls in the middle, yep that looks about right. I do have one purple spot in there which is probably why these mites/daphnia can only survive in the canister filter. Thanks. Sorry for high jacking the thread.
