I need suggestions for filter systems for 8ftx1.5ftx1.5ft

Recommended Posts

I've recently purchased a 8 ft x1.5 ft by 1.5 ft tank. Upgrading from my current 3ft. I need suggestions for filter systems. Currently, in the tank is As crazy as it is, three Gold Fish, 3 ghosts(Bottom feeders), 1 sucking catfish and a snail. I have seen suggestions for an fx5/6

Also been looking at the Aqua One Nautilus series. Long term plans, not sure as yet. We have these Goldfish for a few years now. They started in a 60 liter tank and were upgraded to current 3ft. t

If you feel confident enough I'd go with a sump filter, but yea the fx5/6 should be ok with an internal filter aswell. I've got a fx5 and 6 both work perfectly on there tanks(6x2x2,4x3x2) always crystal clear water. Heard some good reviews on the aqua one 2700 for a bit cheaper although never tried it myself

Have heard good things of the 2700. Even a wee eheim cannister 2217 would be 'ok' for it with an internal filter to boost circ and an air sponge maybe.

Tank will have around 400 litres water....maybe not 'needing' a sump.

Yeah 8x1.5x1.5 is not as big in actual litres as people may first think fx5/6 would handle it well for heavy stocking but most cheaper 2700ish model would most probably be fine also... Sumps... Love them personally but frankly there are more noisey then most canisters for some that's a big turn off plus if the tank ain't drilled wast of $$ imo
