TED
I have a blow out on my main 6x2x2. Big Problem. Noticed that I have been losing water pretty quickly over the last month. I have been checking the carpet for wet spots but havnt found anything til this morning and the realized my worst fears as confirmed. My Dilemma - I have a 6x2x2 blown out leaking unknown amounts of water containing 180 adult peps and one adult gibby. - I have a spare 5fter outside tank without biological filtration, no lids, no heaters and the water is filthy because it has logs soaking in it and is in winter storage mode. Its going to take 2 to 3 days before this is useable if I get onto it today and I could probably squeeze 50 adult peps into this. - I have another 6x2x2 containing one adult pleco, 20 sub adult salvinni's. It has biological filtration heated, and I could probably squeeze the adult gibby and probably 50 peps max. - I have another 6x2x2 heated, with out biological filtration housing a royal pleco and 4 adult peps. I might be able to sqeeze 40 adult peps into this. - I have another 3x18x18 with biological filtration empty. Maybe sqeeze 30 adult peps into this once I find a home for the 4 clown plecos. 50+50+40+30= 160 It will be tight but I may just be able to pull it off. Bugger, Bugger, Bugger. There goes the weekend and half of next week. Wouldn't know where to begin as all my tanks are dirty and need attention before I could start to juggle any fish around. Bugger, Bugger, Bugger. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm, Bugger. Going to go kick some stones around for a bit, sulk for an hour, wait til I go through my angry stage, gather my thoughts and at some point pull my finger out and get onto it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, bugger, bugger, bugger.
DFishkeeper
Might be worth getting a tube of this from the Techden to buy yourself some time : http://www.thetechden.com.au/Gold_Label_White_Underwater_Aquarium_and_Pond_Seal_p/34758.htm
clickme
you need a few plastic containers from bunnings or officeworks - the large variety. resolve your primary problem only...... the leaking 6ftr via emergency housing. share the fish, bio and filtration between 3 of these tubs. move the lot to them. then assess and fix the problem with a clear head, rebuild and rehouse. dont make the problem bigger than it needs to be. with that many tanks and fish, you are no doubt good at what you do, and pretty clever. emergency housing. prolly a lot longer than a weekend though. my take only...... TED
Yeah, plastic tubs are usually my go to for temporary housing. Its not a gushing leak so I'm safe on that side off things. I should be good but its just a big pain in the rear. I knew it was coming, just wasn't prepared for it right now. I have kicked stones around for a bit now and my game plan is looking ok, time to pull my finger out.
Slipshodman
Good luck with it mate.... If i was closer i would offer a hand ..... But best get onto it sooner rather than later though, small leaks somehow become big ones quicker than you ever expect
aquaholic99
It's most likely a pressure leak which will slow or stop when you drop the water level until you get time to do it properly.
