thanks mate will do- its always hard to sell stuff down here even though its only 15min south of cooly, makes me laugh though when you see people knocking stuff back because they won't travel from the Northside to the Southside or vise vera, i grew up in Stafford 50 years ago and the north/South rivalry was a hot topic then

thanks for the lead, i'm getting over having to keep dropping prices until someone appreciates quality fish

mmmm I don't drive.  If I want something I have to catch public transport and carry the fish with me.  I live on the south side and have caught buses over to the north side and done a LFS crawl via public transport, buying fish on the way.  Regular trip was two buses to get the Smiths Aquarium my starting point.  Then a bus back down to the now closed Clayfield Aquarium, walk to Atlas Aquarium, then walk out to the Aquarium that used to be on Lutwyche Rd at Kedron, then bus to the Pet Super Store at Stafford, then walk to Aquarama, and if I had time, bus over to the store at Taringa (and if I still had half an hour get off at Rocklea and stop in to Exotic Fish Connections - love the Great Circle Line).

These days it's two (short trips via) buses to then catch the train down the coast, and then two buses to get to Living Reef Aquarium.  Best discus in Australia so it's worth the trip.

LOl- thats devotion, whats this thing you talk of ? i think you named it pub lick traaans port,we don't have such technology in nsw,not here anyway

I dunno, I've done a LFS crawl or two in Sydney.  Just larger distances between the good LFS.  Not sure there's any LFS down there I'd buy discus from though.

Thanks Danfishy- we are expecting a bit of heater biil shock soon, but summer is on the way and i have decided to try and insulate the tank  for next winter, you can't beat the discus ,and to think i was considering putting goldies in there !!

Yeah discus win hands down, but yes electricity keeps rising. It's not pretty but polystyrene and blankets can make a big difference. Tight lids also help.

One thing to watch with insulation blankets is they can create a higher co2 atmosphere that can lower tank pH. Was driving me crazy trying to work out why the ibc tubs I did it too had such low pH in mornings. That was air powered sponges tho.

Styrofoam sheets work well for sides.

Insulation can save you some cash. If you have tanks in garage, the door is often a big loss of heat.
