Donny@ageofaquariums
The skys the limit literally if you have the budget. Those sky tube things going thru the roof lol. Whats the tank dimensions, and whats more important, features or bang for buck?
liquidg
if you have a fluoro fitting of what ever size either T8 or T5 then go led tubes with cool white and blue diodes, 20 times the life of average tubes and cheaper to run elec wise as well and they run cooler, if bulbs then led bulbs, if an all in one light fitting, go with a led light fitting. I use tubes and all in one fittings these are my tubes, 5 years and still going strong a fitting The bulbs/spots
brock
Thanks a lot guys I was gonna go with t5 so I need to get the fixing and everything but not sure what the best brand is to get and I still want to stay relatively cheap, any suggestions ? Cheers
liquidg
if you mean actual T5 tubes and not led T5 tubes, then you are wasting your money. A led tube lasts at its full colour for many years, the standard ionising T2 or T5 or T8 tubes last around 6 months, a lot of wasted money with standard tubes. inkevnito
Is the light just for displaying your fish? No plants? If so you can go for a basic LED with white and blue LED? Maybe a Beamswork or Aqua One Lights hat arent for plants.
