KRL 2 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 Hi I want to DIY a divided tank for bettas, and I've been looking online for advice. Only problem is the majority of tutorials/videos/posts are from US/UK and I can't seem to find the materials needed in australia. I'd like something more solid and I saw a video where a lady used Sintra PVC- anyone know the Australian equivalent and where to get it? If I can't get that I'd settle for the mesh/report binder method but I can't find black plastic canvas/mesh anywhere (only clear or white). Any help? Thanks! peter m 156 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 You mentioned mesh, should be able to get it from a place that does awnings and shade sails but I would use perspex with holes drilled in it.

raycam01_au 639 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 u can make flyscreen screens as Heintz said, I make glass dividers for my girlfriends tanks and leave them enough off the edge to allow water flow into each section,
KRL 2 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks guys I'd love to do something like perspex with holes drilled but I don't think I have the skills. That corflute stuff might work. Looks like the stuff that companies use for signs. I think I'll just walk through bunnings touching everything until I find the right strength haha. I am also worried about chemicals leaching into the water though. So much to consider!
raycam01_au 639 Report post Posted February 22, 2017 perspex is easy as to use, put small patches on masking tape where you want to drill and go in with a straight hand, it will cut easy 2 KRL and mikie91au reacted to this
KRL 2 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 Great, thanks for that advice!! Perspex might be an option then
