Time to get back into it.

Well it has literally been years since I have had a fish tank operating and I saved one that was going to be a display tank for me.  That was all I ever wanted after doing the whole breeding thing.  So the tank that I have has been sitting dry for a long time and I am thinking a reseal should be in order.   It is a 4x2x27 tank but this has been made a bit weird and to be honest I am not sure that I trust it in its current condition. The silicone all looks good however, all the glass has been bevelled.  This means the silicone seals between the sheets are marginally thinner.  I was thinking of getting a rebuild, but also including bracing on the base and also adding glass bracing on the top of the tank as it only has removable plastic braces.

My biggest issue for doing this is what do stock it with. I am looking for low maintenance and was leaning along the lines of a palidarium so that would completely change how the tank would be rebuilt.  This would allow me to have a low water level, a decent plumbed in canister filter and some tropicals.  it would be a waste for me to use it as a shell dweller tank as most of the height would be of waste.  Having a palidarium I could go with some apistos and small cats as well.  but its the construction of the back of the tank to include live plants like broms and ferns that has me stumped as well.

Has anyone attempted a palidarium? what challenges have u faced.

The pic below is something like what I am trying to look for

I look at that....  and I dream of frogs :D

I'd hate to see my bank balance if we in Australia had access to Amazonian frogs.  I love the Vivarium & Terrarium FB page.

If I was considering a tank like the one you have pictured, I'd be talking to Steve Baines.
