Gonna do some collecting...

Recommended Posts

It's been a long time since I got out collecting.

Anyway, blue eyes generally caught with net in undergrowth along banks of creeks. Glass fish in traps. I haven't been looking for rhads since I got back into fish keeping a couple of years ago but I would assume traps as well.

Thanks for that...tried martin creek

Did well with traps...lots of gudgeons, some really nice rhads, but lots of sword tails...bummer. next mellum creek and lamerough. Hope they still hold the blue eyes.

nice rhads! the prettiest we have here (west of the divide, in the murray darling basin) are probably purple spotted gudgeons, I have caught many of these at times.
Those murray darling rainbows over near Swanfels and Emuvale are pretty sexy too.
I need a better pic of them.c6501803f83b99bdc36b4e679962e057.jpg

Hey guys, just got back from Martins creek at Buderim forest park, (they) are doing track works this season, creek looks a bit milky and silty, and No fish, I spotted two fish possibly rhads , but nothing in traps or nets. (Sad face)  I hope they return in greater numbers this spring

I've never had much luck trapping in the cooler months, they seem not that hungry.

My preferred method of night time dip netting can even be hit and miss during the winter.

Bring on summer....
