mq_camo 24 Report post Posted November 10, 2017 Hi all, I’m looking at starting a marine tank, fish only for now. It is a 4x3x2.5 with a 4x1.5x1.5 sump. What is the best way to get it started. How do you cycle a marine tank? Same as fresh?

gingerbeer 322 Report post Posted November 10, 2017 Fresh is all about the nitrogen cycle. Pretty simple. Marine there is is so many things happening it hurts my head. I have read it can be a year for all the cycles to be balanced. There are other cycles to consider. I have found a good water change still covers a multitude of sins

ageofaquariums 507 Report post Posted November 11, 2017 Too easy. Plenty of good bacteria in a bottle treatments like the continuum range. Combo it with a handful of bio media from a mature reef setup and yer away in no time at all! Just dont forget to add in some fish food to feed the bacteria and encourage them to expand their population! 1 johnbetta reacted to this
