LAJC2012
Hey guys, How readily available are Electric Blue Jack Dempseys? what sort of price do they go for? Ive read some forums with people arguing whether they are hybrids or not. Does anyone have these? if so, post some photos for me if ya can, Im keen to get some of these. matt_a
The general concensus from those who are better informed is that they are NOT hybrids.
gingerbeer
Given on the eb jack dempsey site they admit that it is possible that they are a cross - that is a brave statement. On one side the parent is proven to be a jack - the other side is not. I am a sceptic mainly as the difficulty in maintaining the line is such as I have never heard in any other line bred fish. (not birds - fish) Additionally it is very in line with the need to breed back for shape common amongst crossed fish. My opinion. Steve
Braddo
This is a really hard one I thought they were hybrids but after reading an article in one of this years tfh mags from the actual hatchery where they were first bred, they explained how they came about. Might be worth trying to get your hands on this mag to make your own decision.
