Mouth almighty, bullrout and rainbows

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've got a four foot tank which currently has a Bullrout in it, and is about to have a Mouth Almighty transferred in as a tank mate.

I'd quite like to put some rainbows in with them to have a bit of movement.

Has anybody kept rainbows with a Mouth Almighty? I'm fairly confident the bullrout will leave them alone, though the Mouth Almighty worries me. I've had crimson spots that were about the same size as the Mouth Almighty but I think it would probably still be able to mouth them.

Thanks!

I had crimson spot Rainbows with a Mouth almighty. No problems. They are fairly timid and slow moving.
I tried keeping them twice but found they didn't take to aquarium life and were short lived.
Is the one you are getting recently wild caught or from an established tank?
