aquaholic99 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Share Posted November 28, 2009 If you put some perpendicular cuts about 1 cm apart you might be able to induce the hard plate of the gill to re-grow again but straight. When gill curl is on the soft part of the gill you can trim with the grain in a circular cut but in this case, it is very much on the hard plate. I would cut radially into the gill. Without this stimulation, his gill will not grow much at all and any new growth will continue in the deformed pattern. His gills are already very exposed anyway.
