QLDAF change of rules

Recommended Posts

QLDAF change of rules.

Given the current situation we are changing the rules for the duration of the Covid crisis.  QLDAF is maintained thanks to our active sponsors.  QLDAF includes are facebook page and our forum page.  In normal times advertising is limited to our sponsors.  Given the current situation we wish to give all stores the opportunity to share their stock and engage remotely with the fish keeping hobby.

·       Any post by a store must be identified and include the name of the store.

·       Stores are not to post on each other’s threads.

·       We encourage posting of stock and general discounts (e.g. 25% of fish fish weekend).  Only QLDAF sponsors are allowed to post prices.

·       Private bulk sales of new goods are still not allowed.  DIY ideas are permitted (e.g. private bulk sales of Ziss egg tumblers is a no, selling a DIY egg tumbler is allowed.

·       Sales of private live stock is not permitted by Facebook rules.  Private sales of livestock are permitted on QLDAF forum.

Please support our stores.  Each store does not just provide a livelihood to a fellow hobbyist, but employs staff and contributes to our economy.  Please respect and understand the processes put in place by each store to manage the risk of Covif to their staff and customers.

Yep Doug,  It looks like someone cried.  I am trying to get it back.

We do and almost always have a post pointing here for sales.  Some people break the rules, and I consider myself not to be the facebook police.  If we can get it back I may have to dress in a police uniform and inform the facebook rules more.  Any posts of police uniforms offered to me should probably go to off topic.......

Although annoying and more time consuming, I would recommend turning post approvals on. At least gives the admin a chance to filter out sales posts etc. There is always some muppet who has a cry over something and decides to take it out on everyone. If you do get it back, I dont think its possible to get another chance and will be lost for good. Better safe than sorry. Sure most members will understand..

I am just bumping this up again.  As we go in to lockdown again in QLD, NSW is in a never ending cycle of lockdowns, and Victoria seems to be getting some freedom it is time to remind ourselves this is not over.

QLDAF supports all local fish stores and there staff.  Thanks to the stores we get new fish, quality fish, new products, and new information.

During lockdowns these businesses have to consider there business and people end up not being able to work.  QLDAF support our hobby, sponsors and all LFS stores.

Any store is invited to be involved.  Use you business name as a identifier so we know who you are.  Please post pictures or stock lists.  Feel free to post when you have something new.

i am not sure if going to buy a new fish is considered essential, but buying feeds and medicine certainly is, and stores are considered essential businesses and open for you.  Please respect the rules on masks.  They are a health directive and the staff having to enforce the rules did not make the rules.  The rules are there to keep everyone safe and get out of lockdown ASAP.
