hello all kept african cichlids for about 10 years , I currently have a breeding trio of benga sunshine peacocks  and a fish id like to keep are some shell dwellers from lake Tanganyika

hi and welcome its not a good idea to mix fish from diffrent lakes for this reason the types of fish u like some come from hard water the tanganekens come from soft water it would be hard to balance the two water conditions to keep all the fish healthy i am sorry its better to be in the know before u make that mistake

Good choice ;)    I can sit and watch shell dwellers for ages.   They have big personalities for such little fish!

Welcome to the site.    

On a side note... @johnbetta   never heard of Lake Tanganyika being called soft water before :(  might want to check that one ;)
