Bobghengiskhain
Hi I was wondering is it better to have the aquarium lights on during the day or the night? I've benn told 2 different things and was wondering what the majority on here think/do? Thanks Brian
crazyD
to tell you the truth brain the lights are there 4 us not the fish so its up 2 you when you havew them on and what suits u unless you have a heavy planted tank which whould need 14 hours with light but that's another story dude. japes
Plenty of fish like their nights. Run them when you have time to watch them but don't run them overnight. I personally run my lights from 10am to 7pm on timers, and only ever at full blast when I'm photographing, otherwise as little as possible. whiteknight
I only leave my main lights on for say 4 hours per night ( just for viewing ) also i have a moon light which i run over night on my african cichlid display tank as i have found they dont seem to be so noisey at night and also seem to get less in juries , although with this hot weather we have been having i leave the moon light off to help the tank cool off a bit Terry
