brockssracer
Just got home today after being away for 24 hours and when I walked into the lounge I noticed a dried out fish on the floor. Upon inspection it was my beautiful blue sulphur crested cichlid. Seem he found the small gap that I forgot to close the lid when I fed them. he must have flip flopped around on the floor for a while as he was about 2.5m from the tank. What have you found dead on your floor?

mattstevens
That's weird, I have lost the exact same fish, the exact same way. It was like a day after I bought him too.
Grumundi
Ive had a 25cm Male 7 Bar Frontosa jump out, got threw a small gap at the back of the tank, Was about half an hour after I went to bed and I could hear this slapping sound on the tiles, got up to check and chucked him back in the tank, he was fine. Grum.
noyakfat
Like Grum, my jumper didn't cark it. This incident happened about 2004. I returned home from work one time and couldn't locate my redclaw in the tank, despite what I would call a fairly thorough search. I noticed at one end of the 6ft tank there was a small wet patch on the tiles and a small trail of moisture leading away from it. :petrified: I looked around the place for about 15 minutes and eventually eliminated all possible "hiding" places, until I finally found her behind a small stereo cabinet in the carpeted loungeroom. She was covered in bits of fluff and dust and waving her big claws at me in defiance. I have no idea how long she had been there, but she was definitely dry. Turns out she had climbed up the filter pipe and got out through the gap where it enters the tank. No doubt her tough carapace helped her handle the high leap onto hard tiles. I rinsed her off and put her back in the tank. She suffered no ill effects and I secured her escape route so she couldn't do it again.
