SPO-00L
Hi Guys, Just in the process of converting a 6x2x2.5 tank to marine. Just wondering if this pump will be suitable as a return pump from the sump back to the tank? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Super-Submersibl ... 335985e682 Cheers, Trent
Regy227
that will do ur tank water over 30 times an hour. a reef tank needs only 15 to 20 times and with a tank that size u will need more than one water flow to get your tank circulating correctly. i would suggest something smaller and have other sources of water movement in the tank. SPO-00L
Thanks Regy, I was planning on using the fx5 and removing most of the sponges and filling it up with phosphate removal media and ceramic noodles as another source of water movement. I might go for one of the smaller flowing pumps in that case Cheers, Trent

cory1
As Regy said something a lot smaller than that..you need to talk to Raycam the King of sumps he will put you on the right track
muddywaters
You'll only need around 3500-4000lph in a tank that size, assuming you have the appropriate powerheads in the tank as well. A cheaper, (but reliable), pump like the AquaClear 110 would be fine. Retail is around $125. (I've been using one of these in one of my marine tanks for around 3 years with no problems.) They come with a range of hose fittings and mounting styles and only draw around 60 watts. HTH
