brockssracer
I know that a common b/nose will take advantage of a stuck fish and rip all the scales off, but my question is will all plecs/cats do this or is it just a common b/nose trait. I am wanting to get something into my tank with my texas but I dont want to risk loosing another one As they are prob my fav fish.
mines bigger
algae eaters and such do the same thing
brockssracer
so to keep algae out of my tank I should turn to chemical control instead of natural then.
mines bigger
use BN they are much better for your tank than chemicals... it is pretty rare that a fish will get stuck and a BN will suck slime coat..
brockssracer
yeah I have had a BN not only get the slime coat but completely descaled a fish both sides.
japes
Stick with the algae eaters, but I'd definitely be looking at arranging your tank so fish aren't getting stuck.

xysti53
I used to keep a small gibby in with my Texas even while they were breeding and never had a problem other than the gibby had some damage to it's fins.
