tank83 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Share Posted February 2, 2010 hey guys just curious i have a 6x2x2 tank currently has about 40 electric yellow fry in there all about 1-3cm there is also about 12 jack dempsey fry of same size an about 10 convict fry once again of same size would this lot be ok together til they get bigger or should i seperate them now an also what paremeters should the water be any info would be much appreciated. cheers matt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Cichlidae Posted February 2, 2010 Report Share Posted February 2, 2010 if intended for sale I would seperate, makes it so much easier to get the species you want out if selling only to forums and small scale. technically you probably can as all those fish will handle a ph of 7.8. you will not get optimum growth or colouration without each environment being perfect for each species. if you want to cheat dump them all in the 6 footer, crank up the temprature, current, and feeding. and look forward to your reputation diminishing quite quickly. Quality or quantity? its your call, just remember someone out there is making a lot of money by using these techniques. thats about 30% of the industries issues. My thing is quality above all else! healthy disease free never medicated fish. Good luck with your decision, and i hope you make the one that improves the industry standard! C.
