SPO-00L
Hey Guys, In the process of setting up my 6ft marine tank. I have not had a chance to buy a chiller yet. Just wondering if live rock needs to be kept below a certain temp in order to survive? The water wont be reaching over 30c. Cheers, Trent
shon982
Yeah I believe that should be fine Ideally it should be closer to the 20 degree mark though
aterese
Most people keep their tanks about 25deg, I find with this weather my 2ft (curing live rock also) is staying at 26-27 and it is fine. My 4ft DT never falls below 24 (even winter) and chiller comes on at 26 deg. I have never had to have a heater in either (maybe middle winter to be safe). So if your tank is staying below 27 I would not be worried. Just remember to do water changes whilst curing, lots of chemical levels raise during the process.
