allase when you gravel vac do you remove the plants or just vac sround them i just started wiv plants in my tank an i tend to pull them out and vac then plant them again is this bad practice.... thanks

If you have heaps of plants i wouldnt think so, seeing as the poo is good fertalizer *L*

Just vac up excess. I wouldn't pull my plants, i get what i can and leave the rest.

just a few photos of my two tanks.

The 4x2x2ft Freshwater Australian (Howard River, NT) Biotope tank.

8 Melanotaenia nigrans (George Ck)

8 Melanotaenia splendida australis

5 Melanotaenia fluvilitis

45 Caridina sp Gulf1 (formerly C. gracilirostris)

5 Macrobrachium Bullatum

2 Golden Mystery snails (soon to be replaced with natives)

I have two whiptails and a BN in there atm as I am currently waiting on the Blue Rams from livefish.com.au but the tank is pretty much done aside from replacing the in-tank filter with a mini canister (with glass lily pipes :)) and planting some more hairgrass

heres a few pics of one of our tanks.

tank is a 6x2x2, running on a sump, 3 bulb 6 foor light, 3 white globes and 3 blue. tank is also runnin Co2

tank has about 8 discus, few neon tetras, serpae tetras, cory's. well, just alot of fish.

the tank is lacated in an "island" which is inbetween the front door, so its the first thing you see when you walk in the door, and its a through and through, so it can be also viewed from the dining room.
