Have seen people mention the use of liquid Fertilizers and slow release Fertilizers for plants in aquariums, are these normal garden type Fertilizers or special aquarium ones?

Also do these affect the water quality for the fish?

Do they promote the possibility of blue green algae?

Please any info would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea on types or effects of these.

1stly the Fertilizers are specially designed for aquatic plants. Regular plant Ferts are very poisonus for fish.

If you do not dose Fertilizers with the correct amount of c02 and lighting you will have algae blooms EG. Black brish algae/Green spot algae/hair algae. rarely you will get blue green if at all.

If you overdose with the Fertilizers yes you can wipe-out your whole tank.

Thanks SKELETOR any suggestions on brands ect?

Ive bought an old bath tub and looking at doing a rotation from tank to tub and back again with different plants.

The tub will be outside and will be use to rejuvenate any plants that start to show signs of wear and tear or struggling.
