Hi

just wondering what the best pH would be for a community of:

Platies, Mollies, Guppies..... best pH 7.5 and C.Sterbai and Bristlenose about pH 6.8

Can they all be kept together in a range of pH 7.0 ?

Every advice much appreciated.

Thanks

If you are looking to keep fish.....not breed them

them I'd recommend you forget about ph

Use treated tap water....and leave it at that....if anything add a little calcium carbonate to filter media

livebearers like water with high conductivity (high in dissolved solids) and corys/catfish need reasonable calcium hardness for bone growth

Don't go down the ph up/down road.....it's a recipe for disaster...IMO

absolutely spot on, even for breeding u can get away with a more neutral stable ph, far to often people make more headaches for themselves by lifting and dropping ph in the endless battle to keep it stable thus creating a massive variation for the fish on a weekly bimonthly cycle, pop em in n leave em, they will love u for it

ps i still hate snails rod hehe
