Safe to fish way of cleaning glass

Recommended Posts

I have just been given a second hand tank. The glass needs to be cleaned badly to remove old deposits/'tide marks' etc...

What is the best/safest way to clean the glass on the inside and outside of the tank that will be safe for fish when they eventually go in?

Thanks

i use original home brand bleach on all second hand tanks i get. Dont use the ones with scenst and stuff in them .

Just use warm water and the plain bleach most of the mineral deposits will come off. Once you have cleaned the tank with bleach give it a really good rinse with cold water and leave the tank in the sun for a few days. then rinse again with cold water. If the bleach does not get all of the marks off you can also use white vinegar on a cloth or a razor blade if the deposits are really thick.
