if its dirty and you wanna make it nice and white you can bleach it...

soak in a 1 to 10 solution of bleach (chlorine) for a day or so untill you can see its nice white

Give it a good rinse and soak in water with chlorine neutraliser over night, repeat this 2 or 3 times

let it air dry in the sun then smell it for chlorine smell and if no smell should be good.

if not sure, soak it in plain neutralised water overnight, then test for chlorine the next day with chlorines test tabs, readily available and cheap as from the pool shop..

just be sure to get all bleach out as you should all ready know, its not good for fishys :fish:

srsly how fkd is the law.

lil jimmy is walking along the beach and picks up a bit of coral to put in his fishtank and can get fined big $$$$$

yet just up the beach theres netters working the mullet and raping the ocean just because they have a license that says they can? go figure.

we are our own worst enemy

collecting dry rock (coral) or live rock is a highly regulated industry.

registered collectors pay a hell of a lot to do it.

to prevent a milion lil jimmys destroying what we have

there is only the law.

it is not just hobbyist fish keepers that frequent this forum

I aint no narc man lol

just a friendly reminder that ignorance of a law aint gonna save anyone drama

yeah if every little jimmy took a little bit of coral for the fish tank then there would be little left, just because it is dead doesn't mean it isn't an important part of the ecosystem/ habitat. Quoting the Lion King, its the Circle of Life. Generally 999 times out of 1000 nothing would happen but you have to be increasing the chances of getting caught by posting on the net.
