i have never bought them but when i got my tank off grum there must have been some in the calcium carbonate substrate cause now and then i see them peak up and try and swin over to somewhere else i pull them out and trow them in to my angel fish which eat them up fast but does any one know if they can breed and survive in the aquarium like snails.... and are they a good or bad thing to have there in my african tank.... :?:

yes you can keep and breed them if thats what your asking. Treat them just like a fish with regards to filtration and feeding. They need high oxygen levels and wont tolerate warm temperatures though. The best way to produce is to give them a dedicated recirculation system (fish boxes or plastic trays are enough). If you just want to eradicate them, most freshwater shrimp with pinchers do a great job
