What are the smallest native turtles?

Recommended Posts

I am quitting fish as I cant find a native that i like, apart from gudgeons. I have a 6x2x2 that would be a nice home for a turtle whilst young, but if they get to big (they cant freely turn around in the width) I will rethink my options. How big do the smallest ones get? Googled the on turtles but cant seem to find the info. Can anyone help please?

Australia's smallest turtle is the Western Swamp Turtle from W.A and no you can't have one .They are Australia's most endagered turtle are fully protected .The penny turtle is a urban ledgend .These are merely poor stunted animals and while they don't reach maximum potential ,they still do grow .As for other species all hatchling are roughly the same in size give or take a cm .
