speak to dfishkeeper he has good sucess with his

I use dolphins and crimson tides myself have only had limited success

I would suggest the larger more robust cichlids, elec yellow are a bit finicky and the cuckoos can be a bit rough on the host fish lots of people look for larger types as hosts doug uses dolphins himself

good luck peter

Hi Peppermint,

I use both E blues and blue dolphins. The hardest part is getting your host fish to breed regularly. Once they do, the cuckoos will do the rest.

Have a ratio of 1.5 boys to 1 girl so 3 boys to 2 girls. I have a colony so I have about 6 boys to about 4 girls and I find it works ok.

When the host is holding, milk them about 7 days cos you want to get the host fry out and have plenty of room for the cuckoos to eat the host frys.

Cheers,

dan
