Stig
Hi all, Three of my display fish have inverted stomacks. Its the e-yellow, e-blue and flameback. Flameback has lost his colour, and e-yellow is a little darker than he used to be. The other 40 fish in the tank are doing just fine, fat and healthy. Water parameters are all good, and they are being fed Spectrum, Tetra Colour bits and Aqua One colour enhancing pallets... Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with them, and how to treat it? Peter
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/phpBB/view ... en+stomach Have a read of these posts. They may shed some light on the problem. Peter
Peter
Go here as well http://www.cichlid-forum.com/phpBB/sear ... de=results and type in a search for 'sunken stomach' for the 'Illness and Health Section' There will be many, many posts come up in the search results which may help. Some posts suggest it's a parasite problem and recommend Jungle Labs brand Parasite Cure which I know is available at those generic Westfield Pet stores for about $12. There are a few other suggestions made in the search results as to what may cause it. There's plenty of reading to do. Good luck mate. Let us know how it works out as it seems to be a reasonably common problem. Peter If you had a spare tank I would isolate the 3 fish until someone comes up with more definitive advice for you. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
HereFishieFishie
I would get a parasite drug form your local lfs that contains Praziquantual{hope spelling is right} Dose in fish food for 5-7 days.... as in crush up pills, soak in fish food, then feed to fish. Peter
Hey Stig Can you update us on the treatment results, if any? Also, after seeing a video grab of your 'wow' display tank (whilst on the BayFish Trip), I thought it might be great for aspiring fishkeepers if you post a short clip in the photography / videography section of the forum. Just an idea. I know you're fairly modest That tank of yours was superb!!!! Cheers Peter
