Brengun
I have L10a red lizard whiptail eggs. They laid them last night in a piece of bamboo cave. These are my first plec eggs. The only other real breeding success I have previously had is with bronze corydoras. Any tips or advice most welcome. :eureka:
WhoWeR
If they aren't fanning them then you need to tumble them or they will fungus up quickly. Is it only the three eggs?
Brengun
He was putting the eggs near the exit while he harried the female inside. Everytime she laid an egg, he took it out of the way. When she had finished laying, he chased her off and gathered his eggs to the rear of the cave. He is now fanning and tending at least a dozen eggs. WhoWeR
Well that sounds promising. CONGRATS. Just keep an eye on them and watch the water quality. I have never bred them myself, so I don't know a lot about them. If he knocks them out just scoop them up and tumble them. It sounds like he has the right idea at the moment. bestfish
hey brenda, well done that is great news. now just sit back and watch. if he kicks the eggs out or doesnt look after them you will have to tumble them. now you realise they wont stop lol. Brengun
Well their first attempt at breeding didn't pan out so well. The male abandoned the eggs and I saw a plec go in the log but I think it was the female, not the male. This morning all the eggs are gone and the log is empty. Better luck next time.
