Redlands Pet Centre Day Trip

Recommended Posts

Well today was the day for the RPC field trip to Bayfish and later on a get together at Redlands Pet Centre.

I would like to personally thank Russ and all of his staff who did a fantastic job of organising the day for us all and also for the incredible prices that we all enjoyed today.

A big thank you also to the bayfish team and to all of the different representatives of the various companies there today.

It was great to finally meet and put faces to a lot of the people that we regularly chat to on here.

I for one hope that we can do this again in the future as we all had such a great time.

Anyway thanks again Russ and everyone else involved with our day today, fantastic job :P:P:P:P

When I eventually pass on to the great aquarium in the sky, I want my ashes spread around Russ' shop in honour of the great man and his staff!!!! :fish::fish::fish:

(p.s my ashes could also be kept in an Aqua One or Aquarworld urn on the counter if it doesn't freak out the staff too much...just an afterthought)

Thank you all for the kind words and for coming along on the day and/or evening.

It was a great day. It's hard to believe that it has come and gone already.

I have today spoken to all of the sponsers being Bayfish, Aquatopia, API, Aqua One and Aquarworld. They were all very pleased with the day and the support given to there products. They are all very keen to do it again.

Bayfish said that they wouldn't mind a couple of visits each year.

API wants to do an open night in about 3 months time. Patrick from API could not believe how much knowledge everyone had and he commented on how enjoyable it was talking to you all. He said he had never spoken to such a great group of people.

Aquarworld also want to do an open night so I will have to start planning again.

I would also like to apoligise for the lack of restocking of shelves on the night. We had tons of reserve stock that just didn't make it out, particularly the 100ml Purigen which we had heaps of. The girls got so tied down with serving everyone that they didn't get to restock like they should have.

So if anyone missed out on any specials due to lack of stock or you simply missed or forgot something please PM me and I will put it away for you. Also I will keep the specials going until close of business this Saturday if anyone wants to come in.

Once again thanks to all those that supported the day and night. I would especially like to thank Brian (mbunamad) for looking after the registrations and checking off the bus roster, Graeme (cichlidmad) and Tosawi (T) for helping me load and reload stock and help clean up at the end of the night and Peter (Peter) for also helping clean up afterwards.

Regards

Russ

I know this is kind of unfair but Im sure there would be some way to do it in a more orderly fashion but I mean are pre-orders possible for next time?

Like I mean the majority of Russ's deals were advertised prior to the event and I think most of us, especially Brenda, knew exactly what we were there for then did some impulse buys of course but just doing the pre-order thing at least should minimize of people missing out on stuff and I would think from a business perspective Russ getting a better price from his supplier's if he was to say Im going to need 100 tins of Tetra Bits you think that might do him a deal or something on that purchase and the savings could be passed on.

And thanks for the canister filter! Going to have to get the hole saw out and pop some new holes in the cabinet praying that it dosent wreck its integrity.

Hey jonoz,

If you knew what you were after on the day, Russ was taking unofficial pre-orders via PM on many items, especially those that were known to be high interest items. Russ was kind enough to put items away for myself and many others.

As for your stand, if it's just got a plywood backing on it you shouldn't have any problems with cutting holes in it.

Oh yeah, I didnt miss out on anything just maybe make that public last time. I know I was in the week prior to the Bayfish trip and was discussing with Russ about how he was going to organise the bloodworms but even if there was a Bayfish Pre-order thread or something that was public so people can make their orders.

Hmmm stand is a DALBARB, its definately not plywood will have to try it I guess.

Thinking about getting an 8x3x2 so if it breaks I guess not to much drama.
