bmxican Posted July 16, 2008 Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 well its happening right now im watching my ikolas spawn for the first time :cloppy: i can see the largest female has a thick tube down and is dropping her eggs, turning around and picking them up. shes in the alpha males cave with him and hes taken over half of the tank. and i dont have my camera to take pics . i know she will probably swallow them but im just sharing my excitement. :bun: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bmxican Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 Its pretty funny to watch, you can tell they have no idea what theyre doing. the male is having a hard time keeping all the other fronnys out of the way, i think they think its time for a feed. The female is waiting in the cave but when he comes back they start to circle each other, then when she drops her eggs she turns around and just looks at them. i cant get close enough without interupting them to see but it doesnt look like shes picking them up. i have seeen them doing this a few times but she doesnt seem to be holding any eggs yet... bmxican Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2008 nah no luck.. she is still hanging around the cave and the male is displaying to her but i think i interupted them yesterday when i first spotted it and might of put them off. her tube is still slightly out but its nothing compared to how far it was out yesterday. if you want have a look in the photography forum i put up a pic of the male in his breeding mode..looks awesome!
