"I'm singing in the rain" . . . spawning

Recommended Posts

Been raining most of the night at our place. Get up this morning, it's dark so I turn the lights on and obviously the fish are all asleep. However within 10 minutes my Electric Yellows were into it already and spawning! :boggle:

Could be just me but my Yellows always seem more enthusiastic to spawn when it's wet weather, especially when heavy rain like last night.

Anyone else experience this?

Alot of fish tend to spawn while a low pressure system hits us

In the wild rain means fresh water and more food in the water from the bugs and insects

This is generally more with Amercians and riverine fish but I have found alot of Africans like to breed when its stormy outside
