Metal halide bulbs

Recommended Posts

i'm replacing the bulbs in my metal halides and i have the choice between 14000k and 4200k. i want something like white light that is going to make my colour of my plants stand out (full planted tank) but understand that 14000k is a blue colour tempreture and is used more for reef tanks. but on the other hand the 4200k is close to white light but looks like it may have a little yellow in it which i'm trying to avoid. can i have thoughts please.

ok, yeah it looks like I want something around the 6000K to 8000k bulb. it just makes the water clear and helps bring out more colour in the plants. don't know how to explain it. in my normal 2 bulb fluro's I have like a white or normal bulb and the other actinic or blue light and it just looks so clean. however i can't do that with my halides as each over and covers certain parts of the tank so need a bulb that gives that affect.
