misskimlove
Have some java moss in with my shrimp, guppies and platies. Needless to say, the java moss has gone crazy. I'd like to take most of it out, or at the very least trim it right back. Thing is it's PACKED with shrimp. Are there any tips to get them out or do I just need to stand and jiggle it until they swim out?
frinkie
I'd just go with jiggle

carltonboy
Bait them out with food otherwise babies will stay in there and you run the risk of losing some. Or, after jiggling under water for a while lift it up and down out of the water then under for a few secods, many will jump when out of the water, but if the moss is dense many cannot get out, hence trying to bait the majority out with the favorite food. misskimlove
Thanks guys. I jiggled and lifted out then dunked it back in really quickly a few times (then cut that bit off). Probably did lose a few but I was left with 100+ so I don't mind too much
