origin6
i have had success with java fern, i have also been told that anubias and swords are usable altho they will get a little beat up and nipped, and that its best to plant out your tank first then add the fish as they wont take much notice to them that way. i am no expert but thought i would tell you the little i know.... what plants are you looking at getting? tutters187
Definitely go with Java Fern, Java Moss and Anubias, I'm not a plant person but I think swords are touchy and just about everything else will be shredded.
kasman
agreed - I have java fern with some mbuna and its fine. Heck I even have java fern in with some goldfish and its surviving!
mthom211
I think the important thing is to establish the plants first, or pot them up and place rocks around the base. I'm setting up a planted tank for peacocks soon but I think you will have trouble with mbuna as they eat plants.
