Hi all,

I've just set up a 3ft quarantine tank.

I'm looking at, > buy new fish > quarantine for a month ? > Introduce to 6 ft display.

Im curious to know what peeps do for a quarantine program / treatment, when introducing new fish. Is there a "standard" practice or just treat for worms, parasites, etc at random ?

eg: Divide the month into 4 one week seperate treatments, salt ? prazi ? triple sulpa ? Mal green ?

Would appreciate some feedback from peeps that allready do this.

Thanks

Brendan

no need to treat a new fish in a quantine tank...... unless you see something wrong with it ..

Treat every new addition the same, I would use salt to begin with wait a week and see what happens if something shows treat that but no need for meds just guessing what they might have...

agreed with the above... salt is the best option and leave for a week and observe (especially when feeding) on a daily basis.

you could treat with a mild praziquantal medication for worming purposes because as said it can take a while to notice a problem, but i would leave this treatment for the 3rd week.
