The Messmaker
Hi all, Wondering the pros and cons of Bare Bottom Tanks. Cleaning , Biology wise and anything else from your experience would be a great help. Also if there are any fish that do better/worse Thanks

bidkev
Initially all my tanks had gravel in 'em as my lad thought they looked better and the fish deserved a decent environment. that aside, I've always found fry to grow healthier and faster in tanks with gravel (I actually conducted an experiment to satisfy my curiosity) Due to time/labour constraints, I am now removing the gravel from the tanks as they come empty on all but the adult cichlid tanks (I think they're happier/healthier if they can have a dig as they do in nature). No more gravel vacuuming for me.
