chels1289
The other day I noticed a heap of tiny white parasite looking things in my cherry shrimp tank. They are alive and move a fair bit. And they are eating the algae on the glass. They are multiplying too Can anyone tell me what they are and how to get rid of them? I have attached a pic. Thanks
aussie123
They look like water daphnia Chels. Nothing to worry about if they are as they are a great food source. Generally a good substrate clean and cut the food right down or several weeks and they will disappear.
chels1289
Ok thanks, I've just noticed them in my 3 foot tank as well but they are floating on top with the algae. Do they come hand in hand with algae problems cause the three foot is really bad at the moment. I think the light in their is bad. It's got algae on the glass but its really hard to get off and its all floating on the top of the water too. Any ideas on that one??

DeadFishFloating
Nothing to worry about...... as they are a great food source. I consider it a good sign to see them in shrimp tanks. lost most of mine because of dam hydra!!! next step up in the ecosystem after bacteria/fungi and algae
